God Is Changing My Life Each Day
Winnie Fu
When I look in the mirror I see a typical 12-year old girl. Yet, I know when Jesus looks at me, He sees one of His child that is fearfully and wonderfully made.
I was born in a Christian family and had heard several bible stories since I was young. I knew about how Jesus died for me and how He loves me a lot. Even so, I was never serious about the whole Christianity thing, and just went to church every Sunday as a weekly habit. I never understood and really cared about God and I never realized how privileged I was to be introduced to Christ at an early age.
It wasn’t until these recent months that I started to think about God. I started to see God through the things he created and I’d think: This is so awesome! God created so many intricate things in just seven days! Every single thing was created with complexity and care!
I also started to see the power of prayer working in my life. Every time I got sick, I could always be sure to recover because my parents would pray for me. I know God answers prayers and there have been many times in my life that my prayers have been answered.
Someone once told me that even if I was the only person in the world, Jesus would still have come down to die for me. That really touched me and made me see how much He loves me. In Hebrews 13: 5-6, it says “... Never will I leave you ; never will I forsake you.” So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?” I really like these verses because I can really understand the meaning and I know through those verses that God will never leave me and forsake me, even in my most troubled times. I believe in Jesus because of His love for me and His willingness to die for me.
Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. (Colossians 3:12-14)Although I may not have all the virtues within these verses, I know that God will help me gain them.I believe I am God’s chosen daughter, made uniquely and specially for a purpose. I know He will walk with me through times of trouble, picking me up if I fall. Whenever I’m sad or troubled, I always turn to Jesus to help me and I would feel Him comforting me. Sometimes, a voice in me would tell me what to do, what is right, and what is wrong.
I know that God is changing my life each day, transforming my heart bit by bit, so that I can become a witness for him and testify in front of people that I believe.
