I Have More Confidence in My Faith
Cynthia Yang
Ever since I was little I had gone to Sunday School, so I was introduced to God early on. I believed all the stories in the Bible that I was taught about were true, and I didn't have any doubt about it. That was probably because I never thought too deeply about it, though. Church was like school to me, just somewhere I went to on Sundays. God was part of my life at home, too: I prayed before mealtimes, and before going to sleep, but that didn't mean too much. It was like a routine.
Then, as I got older, I began to think more deeply about God and the Bible. I wondered about why some people didn't believe in him, rejected him, and came up with their own ideas on how the world was created, even though the Bible told us clearly enough that God was real. Maybe it was because they wanted to do whatever they wanted, and with God and the final judgment, they couldn't.
Whatever it was, I began to think more about things concerning God. Sometimes my sister would tell me something interesting about God, and that sparked my interest. Then my dad began explaining things about God, and I was really interested because it was all new. I understood the why more, and, loaded with many reasons why I should believe in God, I became more confident. I'm not exactly sure how my actions have changed, or if there were any really noticeable changes in them. I do know that, inwardly, I have more confidence in my faith, and a peace of mind. I believe in God, and that Jesus Christ is my Savior.
