God Is My Ultimate Savior
Claire Wen
I have always noticed a special vibe in Christians, there was always something mysterious and wonderful about their attitudes to life and their emotions and actions. One day I decided that I wanted that special spirit to be within me, I wanted to know God, and have a one on one relationship with the Supreme Being, the creator of this world. I discussed with my parents my thoughts and how I wanted to become a child of God and for him to fill my heart and be the leader of my life and how I wanted him to be the head of all my decisions, to guide me in the right direction, and just to be my trustworthy confidant when I am depressed or pressured to sin.
After I became a Christian I felt as if something extraordinary had entered my heart, something inside of me was always steering me towards the path of righteousness and creating new thoughts about everything around me. God was always speaking to me through my heart; I started viewing life like a continual race, to follow God or evil and while I am running the marathon of life I knew that God will be in front of me encouraging me and urging me to not wander astray from the road to heaven. Soon after my conversion I began listening to God and thinking: “What would Jesus doin my daily life and I tried make choices according to what Jesus would do. I also started to understand that God was perfect, flawless and never sinful and that when I am evil I am tearing God apart, because God produced everything and when I hurt anything in this world I am injuring him as well.
I believe that God is my ultimate savior, for he paid the penalty of death for my sins; I believe that he knows me inside out; he knows my deepest thoughts, my goals and ambitions in life and my most personal secrets. I know that God is my best friend and my Father and he is going to be present in my most painful moments and when I am making the toughest choice of my life I know that God is going to be there, catching me if I stumble and loving me when the whole world is against me. As it says in 1 John 1:9 that God will always purify us when we sin and love us no matter what. God was waiting to fill the empty space in my heart and when I am baptized I will be following God’s command for my life, to be committed and devoted to Him and His word and to honor, praise and worship him for the rest of my earthly life and fulfilling my duties as a Christian. God knows that I am going to be part of the body of Christ and when my life on earth fades away I will be eternally saved and spend eternity in heaven, forever and ever. Amen.
